My road to becoming a dental hygienist in London, began more than 5 years ago as an apprentice at Chingford Mount Dental Practice in 2014, after which I completed an NVQ in dental nursing in 2015. I wanted to get a better understanding of dentistry which led me to study for a dental hygiene and dental therapy diploma at Eastman Dental Hospital (UCL).
I decided that I would best fit into a dental team as a dental therapist because prevention of disease is what I was most interested in. In the majority of cases, dental and gum problems often arise because of inadequate oral hygiene and poor diet. I wanted to give patients the tools and the knowledge which would help them look after their teeth the most effective way.
My Qualifications
- Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy RCS(eng) at Eastman Dental Hospital (UCL)
- Dental Nursing NvQ Level 3
